CBG
Non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid with potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties.
Preclinical studies in mice demonstrate CBG attenuates mechanical hypersensitivity in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy via CB1, CB2, and α2-adrenergic receptor mechanisms. A 2024 comprehensive review highlights potential applications in cancer, metabolic, pain, and inflammatory disorders. Pharmacokinetic data from mice show CBG is absorbed orally, intraperitoneally, and intravenously without producing intoxicating effects even at high concentrations. Human clinical trials remain scarce, and most evidence is from animal models or in vitro studies. CBG:CBD combinations may be more effective than CBG alone for neuropathic pain.
