Drostanolone propionate was originally developed for breast cancer treatment due to its anti-estrogenic properties. Structural characterization confirms it as 2α-methyl-DHT with a propionate ester at C17β. Evidence for performance enhancement is largely anecdotal from bodybuilding communities rather than controlled trials. No modern clinical studies validate efficacy or safety at supraphysiological doses used in sport. Pharmacokinetic data is limited to the known propionate ester release profile.
