§ 04 — SCIENCE

Boldenone is well-established in veterinary medicine, particularly in horses, for promoting muscle mass and appetite. Human pharmacokinetic data are limited, as the compound was never approved for human clinical use. Studies in rats demonstrate boldenone-induced aggression mediated via the TLR4/MyD88/TRAF-6/NF-κB inflammatory pathway, along with oxidative stress and serotonin depletion. Detection of boldenone and its metabolites in biological matrices remains an active area of research, particularly for doping control and food safety, as endogenous production has been documented in several species including horses.
