TRENBOLONE ACETATE
Potent injectable anabolic-androgenic steroid of the nandrolone group, originally veterinary; high anabolic-to-androgenic ratio with serious multi-organ toxicity.
Trenbolone acetate is approved only as a veterinary growth-promoting implant in beef cattle; no formulation is approved for human use. A 2024 review found that approximately 90% of illicit users experience injurious side effects spanning nervous, reproductive, immune, cardiovascular, and dermatological systems, with severe acne and gynaecomastia affecting roughly one-third of users. Environmental studies confirm that trenbolone acetate metabolites (17α-trenbolone, 17β-trenbolone, trendione) are endocrine-active contaminants persisting in aqueous systems with half-lives of 0.9–2.2 days at 20°C. Animal studies demonstrate immunosuppressive effects, altered sex steroid levels, and reproductive tract modifications. Human pharmacokinetic and safety data are extremely limited, as nearly all evidence comes from illicit use reports and veterinary or environmental research.
