§ 04 — SCIENCE

Eleutherococcus senticosus has been extensively studied in vitro and in vivo for adaptogenic, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, and anticancer properties. Evidence supports anti-fatigue and stress-resistance effects, with demonstrated modulation of oxidative stress and inflammatory pathways. Neuroprotective potential has been shown in models of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and cerebral ischemia, though most data is preclinical. Anticancer activity has been demonstrated in glioblastoma and lung/liver cancer models via ferroptosis induction. Human clinical trial data remains limited and heterogeneous, with many studies using mixed herbal formulations. Conservation concerns exist as the plant is endangered in some regions of its natural range.
