§ 04 — SCIENCE

Clinical studies, predominantly from Russia and Eastern Europe, suggest vinpocetine improves cognitive function, memory, and motor skills in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia and post-stroke recovery. A 3-month trial of Cavinton Comforte (10mg 3x daily) in 30 patients with vascular cognitive disorders showed improvements in short-term memory, visual-motor function, and attention. A larger 164-patient ischemic stroke study demonstrated better neurological recovery with IV Cavinton followed by oral therapy versus basic therapy alone. However, high-quality randomized controlled trials in Western populations are limited, and evidence for its use in neurodegenerative diseases like ALS remains insufficient. Recent preclinical research also suggests potential in osteoarthritis via ferroptosis inhibition.
