§ 04 — SCIENCE

DLPA has been studied since the 1970s for mild pain conditions and depression, with some small clinical trials suggesting benefit for chronic pain and mood. The D-isomer's enkephalinase inhibition is supported by animal data but human evidence remains limited and mixed. The L-isomer's role as a catecholamine precursor is biochemically well established, though clinical outcomes for depression are inconsistent. Overall, evidence is preliminary and insufficient for strong therapeutic claims; most studies are small and methodologically limited.
